PUBLICATIONS AND STUDIES SECTION

The publication and studies section of the Dept of Culture & Information gives a deep concern to the innovative and cultural publishing in various fields of knowledge and creation. In a very short span of time it achieved more than 200 cultural prints. One of its publications, 'Al Rafed' Magazine started as a quarterly magazine, then once in every two months and finally as a monthly magazine since the year 2000. The magazine successfully established its influence in the UAE as well as in other Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Oman, Morocco, Egypt and Syria.

There are other annuals like Al Saura, Theatre and Iqra. All these annuals give special concern to various forms of cultural activities such as art, theatre, heritage, archaeology, books and libraries.

The majority of books are published in series like Al Rafed, university papers, Sharjah Award for creativity, theatre, publications directed for the care of children's culture, archaeology, heritage and other forms of art and culture and more over translations and innovative versions.

Al Rafed's book handles various issues in the fields of intellectual, cultural and historical subjects. University papers of Ph.D and MA, related to the issues on the historical relation between the UAE and Gulf communities are also published.

The publication and studies section shoulder the responsibility of publishing the prize-winning papers from of the Sharjah Annual Award for creativity and we should note that this award is founded for youths of both genders covering various fields such as poetry, fiction, short story, play, drama, children's literature, critiques. So far 80 papers on different subjects were published.
