| In November 1975 His Highness
formulated his ministerial decree appending the station
into the federal Ministry of Information. In view of
the progress and growth enjoyed by the UAE society nothing
appears on the horizon to hinder or stop the diversity
of the multi-media whether they are legible or audio-visual
and from here originated the notion of making the Sharjah
Radio station the main supporter to the TV station and
start together performing their holly mission and giving
a special concern to Islamic programmes which are of
vital necessity for the welfare of Muslim people. On
15th November 2000, His Highness announced the reopening
of the Radio station saying that :
"I call on
you to be very careful and strict in selecting programs
and the paramount attention must be given to reflect
the Islamic high morals and values. Keep away from
miserable, disgraceful programs, as well as programs
that sow the seeds of discord among the Muslim people
or that distract Muslim people of their devotions".
Through these words His Highness summed up the prime
objectives of the re-introduction of the Radio station.
It's radio broadcasting could easily be received
within the radio channels already found on the digital
transmission of Arab satellite GH frequency as well
as the digital transmission of the European satellite
and also the additional channels on waves 7.2 MH,
7.74 wave connected with Sharjah S.Channel which could
possibly be received on GH frequency. Transmission
directed to the eastern region was enhanced and could
be received via 107.6 wave.
Sharjah radio station acquired its strength and fame
due to the prominent programs that it presents such
as Shariat Al nour, the medical symposium, the cultural
symposium, the youth matters, education horizons,
Arabic language - the language of the paradise inhabitants,
the Muslim's nature, the Arabic encyclopedia, the
encyclopedia of the Al Sunna, Al Nabawiyah and so
manny other excellent programs. Before completing
its first year of operation, the station was awarded
the bronze prize for its program ' Victims of Mines'
during Cairo radio & TV festival, in July 2001.
