The
House of Heritage is divided into five units in order to
facilitate collection and preservation of popular heritage
material :
(1) Information & classification Unit :
This unit collects all necessary information on the heritage
items, such as its sources, genuineness, history, etc. The
collected items are then sorted, arranged, maintained and
catered to scholars and researchers.
(2) Technical Unit : This is the unit where
all registrations are made and photography of heritage events
are carried out.

(3) Collection and registration Unit :
This is the most important unit in the House of Heritage
where the heritage data is usually collected from narrators
and story tellers . Also a special interest is shown in
heritage related material televised or broadcasted by radios
and televisions. This unit maintains audio-visual archives
and pictures.
(4) Library Unit : This unit contains an
excellent collection of reference books on languages, Literature,
Gulf studies, Islamic civilization, History, Geography,
Physiology, Botany, Archaeology, Folk medicine and many
more. Several useful magazines and periodicals are also
available, in addition to the publications by the Department
of Culture & Information,, Sharjah. Also preserved in
this unit are the reports and articles on heritage published
in the news papers and magazines.

(5) Property Unit : This unit provides
the required items for exhibitions and other purposes. It
also maintains the collections and preserves the heritage
data and material. It is in charge of the displayed and
stored items in the museums. The unit also provides heritage
data and material for such exhibitions organized in different
schools, universities and various societies.
