DIRECTORATE OF HERITAGE
Establishment
of the Directorate of Heritage in Sharjah, under the Department
of Culture and Information, took place in June 1993. The
Directorate is taking care of the preservation of old buildings
and conservation of heritage all over the Emirate. It is
in charge of the heritage museums and for the collection
and preservation of heritage material. The Directorate promotes
local folklore and provides service in this respect to those
people who are interested in studying or doing researches
in these fields. Moreover it organizes lectures and symposiums
and thereby provides information on popular heritage to
the public. The Directorate of Heritage consists the following
sections :
