THE
SHARJAH AWARD FOR THE UAE BOOK
As part of his continuous efforts in supporting the
local writers and publishers for catering the academic
requirements of the country, His Highness The Ruler
of Sharjah has introduced 'The Sharjah Award for the
UAE Book', to be enforced by the Organizing Committee
of the Sharjah World Book Fair. |

The award will be accorded to the best writer and best
book as well as for the best publisher of a local book.
It will be presented annually during the Sharjah World
Book Fair, held annually during November-December period.
The award will be accorded to:
- The best local writer
- The best written, produced or translated local
book
- The best locally printed book. Rules
& conditions are as follows:
- Perfection in the field of specialization.
- The work should be written in eloquent Arabic language.
- The work should not have participated and won any
awards earlier.
- Participants are requested to provide 3 copies of
the nominating book before 30th of September every
year along with the application form.
- The books that are published during the last two
years only are acceptable.
- The Judging Committee's decision shall be final.
- The winners shall be announced before the beginning
of Sharjah World Book Fair and an award distribution
ceremony would be conducted during the fair period.
Awards
Along with a certificate and a commemorative shield
each winner will get a cash
prize:
- The prize money for the best local writer
is Dhs.15,000/-.
- The price money for the best publisher is Dhs.5,000/- |
